This event at Hebden Hey has run for the past seven years. In previous years as a competition, but this day is more than that... a whole day of shooting at different targets and with different equipment than you willl have done before, not incompetition with others, but see how well you can score yourself at both shooting and archery.
There are a number of bases:
as well as a number of more challenging bases to make the day more fun.
ALL SCOUTS & EXPLORERS NEED A SIGNED
SHOOTING PERMISSION FORM
Come back for more info or
* NOTE: photos not taken at last year's event.
The bases are run in turn, so you need to be here at the START TIME of 10am.
This year the competition is open to all Explorer Scouts
No need for uniforms, though a necker would be good. It is more important to dress for the weather as it can be cold!
Eveyone will get to use the equipment provided, so there is no need to bring your own guns or bows.
Get your leader to book you a place, you'll need some food for lunch and money for the tuck shop.
The event relies on the volunteer help of local Scouting leaders, please let us know if you can help - even if you do not have a shooting or archery qualification you will be most welcome.
For those Explorers not used to shooting air rifles or a bow and arrow, we are holding a training day on
SATURDAY 1st APRIL at the START TIME of 10am.
There will be an addditional charge for this days shooting, but you will get full tuition and learn how to use the equipment, as well as practise shooting for the following days competition.
